Your coach is a UESCA certified Personal Running Coach and Endurance Sports Nutrition Coach.
After meeting with your coach to discuss your history and running goals they will create your Annual Training Plan (ATP). Not sure which race(s) you want to run? No problem, your coach can help you sort through race options to find those that are best aligned with your goals and strengths.
You'll have an account created in TrainingPeaks, a complete training platform that will become your single source of information for your training and training data.
Your coach will publish your training plan and release it 1 week at a time, typically on Sunday after reviewing your performance for the prior week. Your coach will make updates to frequency, duration and intensity as you progress through your fitness journey.
If you have a compatible fitness tracker all of your scheduled workouts will sync to it directly from TrainingPeaks and queue you through every run so that you don't need to remember your paces, distances, etc. Even better, your data from your efforts will sync back into TrainingPeaks automatically so that your coach can evaluate it.
Prior to race day your coach will develop a mile by mile course specific race day pacing strategy to help ensure your effort is aligned with the demands of the course. Are you a strong hill runner, then we'll plan on using that strength and push the pace uphill. Prefer to take it conservatively on the hills, no problem we will reduce pace and prepare you for an accelerated pace on the flats.
Strength workouts are included in our training programs and we'll include video guided runner specific strength workouts for you each week. Already have a strength routine? No worries, keep doing your jam and your coach will make recommendations if anything is pulling you too far away from your running goals.
You'll receive 2 coach administered biosensor sweat tests every 12 months. Often overlooked and misunderstood, understanding your sweat rate and its composition can play a major role in your ability to push your body. These non invasive tests will tell you not only how much you are sweating but also the "ingredients" of your sweat so that you and your coach can find the hydration product that best matches your unique sweat profile.
